I have just had someone to replace an old sliding door with a new one. The workders did not pay attention to the alarm sensor on the old door and did not put it back. Now I can not set up the home alarm system. How easy is it to re-install the alarm sensor to the new door?

pretty easy if you have the magnet insert
It depends on if they left the wires exposed to reconnect. If not, you may have to remove trim and locate the wire.
If you have the old contact on the end of the wire but they hauled off the old magnet, try taping a fridge magnet to the contact till you can locate the appropriate one to install. This should satisfy the system temporarily.
very simple, there is a small magnetic insert that needs to be placed in top the door and in align with the sensor. IF you still got the old door dig it out of it carefully. Get a drill and bit the same diameter as the insert. Mark where it goes, drill and tap in. Your ready to set your alarm.
If you don’t have it, call your security company and they will send a repairman over asap.
